Harper Beckham has taken her first steps into the art world, despite being unsteady on her own feet (well, she is a toddler after all). Harper has begun her personal art collection with an enviable £600,000 Damien Hirst original…
Damien Hirst is reportedly a close friend of Harper’s Daddy, footballer David Beckham, who commissioned the painting for her first birthday in July 2013. The 7ft high, heart-shaped piece is embellished with Hirst’s signature butterflies and appropriately titled ‘Daddy’s Girl.’ Harper’s Hirst heart was recently spotted being moved into the family’s new West London mansion.
The junior contemporary art connoisseur may have first discovered Damien Hirst at an Andy-Warhol-inspired exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 2012. Her former Spice Girl mother, Victoria Beckham, assisted her on the cultural trip, which included viewing works by Richard Avedon, Jeff Koons and Damien Hirst.
We're looking forward to hearing how Harper’s art tastes develop after such a good start! Take a look at our Damien Hirst collection (for which you won't need a Beckham-sized budget) if you'd like to follow in the budding style icon's footsteps...
