Graffiti Legend Banksy has come home and pulled off what can only be described as his most audacious stunt to date.
Bristol born Banksy has installed 100 works of art into his home town Museum creating an exhibition unlike any other. The exhibition at Bristol’s City Museum and Art Gallery has been one of the best kept secret in the art world with only a hand full of people outside of Banksy’s crew having knowledge of its location.
The show entitled Banksy vs Bristol Museum sees Banksy work sitting along side or replacing the museums regular artefact. A burnt out ice cream van, animatronic chicken nuggets, swimming fish finger, paint splattered sculptures and more traditional Banksy stencil’s make up part of a show that sits and hides itself amongst the museums more traditional exhibits.
The Museum had been temporarily closed for the set up of the exhibition which saw Banksy and his crew take over the space to work there magic. The real reason for the closure was with held from many top council officials to guarantee complete secrecy and anonymity for Banksy
Banksy said
“This is the first show I’ve ever done where the taxpayers’ money is being used to hang my pictures up rather than scrape them off
The exhibition will run for 3 months and admission is free!
