Sculptor Martin Boyce wins the 2011 Turner Prize

  • 1 min read

Photographer Mario Testino presented Martin Boyce with the £25,000 cheque during a live broadcast of the ceremony on Channel 4 last night.

Creating a landscape in the gallery, Boyce’s works interrogate urban forms along with the history of Modernist design and its working processes. The other three nominees were installation sculptor Karla Black, video artist Hilary Lloyd and painter George Shaw.

You can still go and see all the nominees work at The BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art Gateshead until the 8th of January. This is the first time the Turner Prize has been presented beyond Tate’s galleries.
