The Crisis Commission exhibition will see some of today’s most celebrated artists unite to show major new work in response to homelessness and the issues related to it for this worthy organisation.
The artists involved are Antony Gormley, Tracey Emin, Sir Anthony Caro, Yinka Shonibare, Gillian Wearing, Jonathan Yeo, Bob & Roberta Smith, Nathan Coley and Nika Neelov.
The exhibition is free admission and takes place in one of London's most prestigious venues, Somerset House, which opened on 14 March and closes on 22 April 2012. A following auction of exhibited work will take place at Christie's on Thursday 3 May, with all proceeds going to Crisis, the UK's national charity for single homeless people.
The artists have focused on isolation, property, security and space and most of them will be donating new works for the exhibition, Sir Anthony Caro is said to donate existing work.
