On Wednesday, to coincide with the 60th anniversary of David Hockney’s first ever print, Dulwich Picture Gallery will open their dedicated show celebrating Hockney’s long and diverse career as a printmaker. As David Hockney fans and print enthusiasts, we thoroughly recommend visiting…
‘Hockney, Printmaker’ will showcase over 100 works, from 1945 to his most recent work with computers and ipads in 2009. The exhibition focuses on Hockney’s two main print techniques, etching and lithography, and reveals his career-long commitment to the art of printmaking.
Curator of the exhibition Richard Lloyd, International Head of Prints and Multiples at Christies, describes Hockney as “one of the most prolific, diverse and technically astute printmakers alive.” If you get a chance to visit the exhibition Facebook or tweet us to let us know whether you agree!
