Italian Stencil artists Sten & Lex came to Brighton last week to make an exclusive limited edition silkscreen published by artrepublic and printed in the studio of our sister gallery Ink_d.
‘In Aeternum Gloriae’ (Glory Forever) is a signed and numbered silkscreen print with gold spray paint on 400gsm Velin Arches Blanc, a richly textured heavy weight paper stock. We have published two editions; extra large (105 x 80cm) which is a special edition of just 10 and small (50 x 65cm) an edition of 50.
The print will be released on our website at 9.30am on Friday 1st August, although if you are coming to our London gallery’s first birthday party on 31st July you will have a preview of the print before it is released. There will also be an original for sale at this event.
Sten & Lex have been working together since they met at University six years ago. If you are a follower of urban art you may have seen their work at the now infamous ‘Cans Festival’ where an unused road tunnel in South London was transformed into a cutting edge exhibition space by some of the world’s top graffiti artists and was organized by one of the most famous graffiti artists in the world today; Banksy.
We were first introduced to Sten & Lex by their good friend C215 at the Cans Festival in London, then, when C215 came to Brighton for the signing of his print, they came along and that's when we decided to make a print together. This is their first limited edition print and it was taken from the original art they did at the Cans Festival (see image above). We hope there will be more to come.......
