artrepublic favourite Russell Marshall has joined forces with Bacardi to create an art event with a twist. His fantastic Photo Opportunity series of screen prints – featuring police mugshots of the rich and famous - has been snapped up by Bacardi bosses for a six week exhibition at their London HQ.
The fantastic launch night saw live printing, a movie showing the screen printing process, a pop up police mugshot photo booth and talks by both Russell and Grey Goose vodka brand ambassador Joe McCanta. Russell spoke of his newspaper background and how 28 years experience on the news subbing and art desks of several national titles has influenced his art.
A two colour screen print was printed live on the night and guests were invited to get their hands dirty and have a go with the squeegee. Almost 100 prints were produced, signed and given away during the show.
We’re certainly looking forward to admiring Russell’s new work over a cocktail or two…
