Hush – 'Found' 3 day exhibition in NYC

  • 1 min read

Internationally established street/urban artist Hush sets his stall out for a three day spectacular exhibition titled ‘Found’ in New York City for the first time ever.

‘Found’ is comprised of 25 mixed-media works ranging from small to large sized pieces, installation, and a limited edition hand embellished print. This special and brief three-day show marks Hush’s New York debut exhibition that deepens his exploration of the resulting emergences brought about by the evanescent quality of street art.

The artist continues his examination of the vitality and transient nature of mark making, tagging and graffiti. Transitioning these street art practices to the studio setting, the artist creates a body of work that brings to light the essence of “action painting” and “pure expressionism”.

Appreciating and identifying the remains of past tags as points of expression, the artist transitions this influence to his work that he refers to as “action painting” or “pure expressionism”. In his new collection, Hush remains influenced by the escape from the constraints of traditions, the contrasts between old and new, the past meeting the future and the fusion of Eastern and Western culture.

'Found: New Works by HUSH' opens Friday, November 19th at Angels Orensanz Foundation For Contemporary Art, NYC.
