This evening a unique street art event is taking place. 23 leading street artists are coming together for a one-night-only exhibition and auction. Lord Harry Dalmeny of Sotheby’s is hosting the auction consisting of 5 pieces, including works by Toaster and Sweet Toof, whilst the rest of the artwork is for sale off the wall. All the proceeds raised over the course of the evening will be donated to Anti-Slavery International.
There are some great artists in the line up including Jimmy Cochrane, David Walker, and Olek. Popular artrepublic artists Pure Evil, Jo Peel and RYCA are amongst the internationally renowned group who have produced work for the event.
Anti-Slavery International, founded in 1839, is the world’s oldest international rights organisation. It works to eradicate slavery in both the UK and abroad. Artist Jimmy C has said, “street art has the ability to engage, challenge and communicate in a direct and dynamic way, and I hope that a broader understanding and awareness will be gained through this exhibition, lending further support to the work and cause of ASI.”
‘Follow Your Art’ will include a DJ set from Massive Attack and a performance from Leon Rhymes. It is being held at Village Underground, Shoreditch, and is free to attend.
